Buster

My name is Buster. I was born on April 26, 1998. I am a chocolate male, neutered, housebroken, good with dogs and I love people, and I’m solid and weigh in at 74 lbs. My story is a little sad, but don’t cry for me, I am happy, I am not in pain - I just need for someone to give me a great home!

My owner didn’t take very good care of me. I was not neutered until LRR got me from the shelter. My owner was away and he didn’t even know or care that I was missing. I was always running away and spending time with neighbors or in the shelters. As a result of this, I was hit by a car when I was only about 7 months old and again a few years later (no major injuries on that one).

The first time, my right rear leg was broken. A vet used some pins and wires and put my leg back together, BUT due to the way my leg was bandaged, my leg didn’t grow properly.

More about my leg: First, it is a little bit shorter than my other legs, but I use it all the time. I run, go up and down steps, I play, and I don’t even notice my bad leg. As a result of my bad leg, the vet says that my hips have some extra stress on them - so I have remain under 75lbs. The really good thing is that I have NO signs of arthritis in my hips or my leg, except a little at the hock - and I didn’t even know it!

LRR had an orthopedic vet look at me. He said I was a nice boy and that someone should take me in and love me ‘cause I am a lovable, good looking guy (I don’t take the best photos, so you really have to meet me in person.) He wanted the LRR people to know that I am not in pain from my leg problem, and that I can have a long happy life, as long as my new person realizes that I can’t jog, and I don’t want to fall on an icy stairway or sidewalk. I would love to curl up, watch old movies and eat popcorn - so are you up for that? I could be a great couch potato.

My coat still needs some work, it was faded and thick (I lived outside ALL the time till LRR got me), but LRR got me cleaned up and it looks a lot better - so good food and a nice home are helping with that.

Be sure to look at my photos - my foster Mom tried so hard to get a good photo of me, but every time she looks at me I wag my tail and it wags my WHOLE body – I just can’t help it, I love people so much. By the way, the only super active part of me is my wagging tail. I am just happy to be alive and in the hands of LRR - so my tails wags just thinking about it!

Do you want to meet me? You might fall in love!

THIS JUST IN…..

My foster Mom and sister (an adopted LRR dog Molly) just love me! They say I’m sweet and fun and say they can hardly tell a thing is “wrong” with my leg. I play, run, jump, take walks and just chill on the porch, in the back yard and I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE my dog bed. Don’t tell my girlfriend, but I kiss Molly sometimes. I’m so silly because I’m scared of the vacuum and the hair dryer – as soon as I even see them, I go to a nice quiet spot in the house. My foster pals will be sad to see me go, but know I will be an awesome addition to someone’s home. Come and meet me…you will totally fall in love!
