Cali

Hi there, I’m Cali - a gorgeous, svelt chocolate female. I was born February 17th, 2009, so yes, I am just a teenager and past all those puppy things! I am housebroken, crate trained, great with other dogs and kids and cats (but chasing them is fun!). I weigh 66 lbs, I have had some obedience training and they say I am a very good girl for being so young.

My original family gave me to LRR because they couldn’t keep me anymore. It wasn’t their fault and they truly loved me and took excellent care of me. I had all the comforts of home, including a boat load of toys and had a great start in life, which will make my journey to find a new home an easier one.

Since coming to LRR I have started to make my rounds through the foster homes. What fun that has been. I have had dogs and kids to play with, we have been for walks and rides, and I’ve been having a ball.

At one foster home, there was a swimming pool. I was so embarassed, I fell in - and for a minute there, I couldn’t figure out how to get out. I was more careful after that, I only had to be told once to stay away from the edge of the pool.

I was in another foster home that has lots of dogs to play with. We wrestle, and play and bark - then my foster Dad wanted us to be quiet. Yep, he only had to tell me once, and I was quiet as a mouse—at least til we all wanted to play again.

My current foster home got the pleasure of cat testing me. Yes, I did pretty well. I had never seen one of those critters before - I just assumed that since it ran, I was supposed to chase it. Well, I guess not, but no big deal - I know now its just a cat.

So, what would be my perfect new forever home? The LRR folks asked me that question, it’s nice that we can put in our order for what kind of home we want. I want a home that is fun, with a dog and/or some kids to play with. I’d like a bucket of toys - really good, fun toys! I want a home that will take good care of me and will help me to brush up on my obedience skills. And most of all, I want a forever home.

Look at my face, my beautiful face and what a face it is! Now aren’t you just itchin’ to meet me?
