Buddy

My name is Buddy and I am a sweet lovable year old chocolate boy. I’m a little on the small size but I have a really big personality. I am housebroken, crate trained, neutered and current with all my shots.

I bounced around a couple of homes before I came to LRR but am enjoying all of the attention I’m getting now from my foster home. Because I didn’t have a stable environment and I’m such a young boy I haven’t been exposed to a lot of things so I can be a little timid when I come across new things but I’m learning to be more confident. When I first meet you I might hang back but don’t let my shyness fool you. I am a great loving boy once you get to know me. I can be a great cuddle bug.

I’m extremely easy going and roll with the punches. I am enjoying life living in my foster home with all of the toys and attention a boy could want. I am very curious about things and being a 1 year old I check most things out with my mouth so I do need to be watched and shown what is and isn’t acceptable behavior. I have three lab foster sisters who are a little crazy at times, I join in when they are barking or chasing after the cats but I stop when I’m told. Seeing as I’m so young I can easily be lead astray.

I walk nicely on a leash, and if you stop to talk with someone I will politely greet them. I can get a little bouncy when I get wound up but I listen and am learning some basic commands. I nicely greet all dogs and even cats. I have even tried to get one of the cats to play but they don’t seem to understand dog play.

I don’t completely understand this tennis ball retrieving thing. My foster sister gets a little crazy with the ball chasing thing. It is fun for a few throws but after that I have trees and things to check out. I like to chew on hard toys and carry them around. I have no issues when the other dogs take the bones / toys from me.

I am a pretty smart boy too. I am working on my sit, down and come commands. The come one needs a little more work. I am also very resourceful. When my foster mom is on the other side of the fence, I have found a few tiny rabbit holes to sqweeze thru to join her on the other side. To keep me safe, I will need a super secure area to play.

If you are in need of a best friend who has a lot of youthful energy but is easy going, enjoys snuggling and walks and has lots of love to give, I’m your guy.
