Boomer

Boomer’s my name, I am a happy go lucky neutered male lab. I am about three years old, and I am housebroken, crate trained and I even know a few commands. My foster mom tells me I am a medium energy labbie.

I was a stray to a local shelter before LRR came to find me, so they don’t know too much about my background. Anyway, I had been at the shelter for about a week or two, when LRR came to look at me. They instantly fell in love with my big personality and happy lab ways. Speaking of big personalities, I should mention that I am a bog boy at 98 pounds. But I am proud to say it is all muscle. You may be thinking that is a lot of dog, but my foster mom tells me I am such a good boy on a leash. I usually stay right in heel position on my leash with her, unless I smell something that I can’t resist. I am looking for a home with a tall fence or someone to leash walk me becuase my nose takes me places.

I am having a great time with my foster family, they have other dogs to play with and a big backyard to wander around in. One of my favorite pasttimes is to chase the squirrels, they are EVERYWHERE, and just when I thought I had chased them all away, I see another one. Whew, my job is never done! My foster parents have taken me to the dog park and doggie daycare, which is totally fun. Another thing I love to do is sit in the kitchen when my foster mom is cooking, you NEVER know when something may fall and needs to be cleaned up! They also have these really great soft dog beds to sleep on at night, it is so comfy!

I am a very happy boy, I even wag my tail when I eat. My foster mom laughs all the time with me around. One thing that doesn’t make me happy, I am Lyme positive. When LRR got me out of the shelter I had 12 ticks on me, 12! They had been on me for a long time, but thank goodness LRR took them all out and put me on medicine that will make me feel better. I don’t mind the medicine they put it in yummy treats. That reminds me, remember to test your dogs for Lyme and Heartworm yearly and to put them on Heatworm and flea and tick preventative year round. If I had been maybe the ticks wouldn’t have stayed on for so long.

I really like my foster family, but what I really want is a family to call my own and a backyard to chase my own squirrels in, and maybe a nice kitchen to catch whatever falls off the counter! If you think you and I sound like a good match send in your application, I will be looking!
