Congratulations 2013 CGC Recipients!

Max

Twenty years! That’s a long time to do something! Fortunately, it only takes a few minutes to show off a dog’s good manners. As Labrador Retriever Rescue, Inc. celebrated our 20th Anniversary of helping Labs find forever homes at our annual picnic this year, twelve dogs strutted their stuff to show they have the mettle to be Canine Good Citizens! Eleven of those twelve passed the evaluations headed up by Laurie Scible, AKC certified CGC evaluator, dog trainer and animal behavior consultant. The one dog who did not pass was so excited, he just didn’t want to take things laying down during the assessment. Laurie did a fantastic job directing everyone through the evaluations and even gave some training pointers to others who came by to check out CGC. What’s more, a couple of dogs who had not planned to be evaluated gave it a try and passed! Congratulations to everyone!

So take some advice from one of our successful veteran adoptees: Amos says “Take it easy, relax. CGC is a piece of cake! It doesn’t take twenty years to learn this stuff!”
