Honors to 2006 CGC Recipients!

A second cadre of LRR Canine Good Citizens was ushered into prominence at the 2006 LRR picnic. Fifteen dogs were newly conferred with the honor and title of Canine Good Citizen! This may sound like pomp and circumstance, but actually, everyone enjoyed a laid back, fun time watching our dogs be who they are: good dogs, and achieve the recognition they deserve and earned.

Once again, Julie Jacobus was keynote speaker and evaluator for the event. Kudos go to Julie for her excellent administration of the test to sixteen dogs. With credentials as a dog trainer, behaviorist, canine first aid instructor and pet owner herself, Julie shared advise with all the participants, whether LRR adoptee or canine sibling to a LRR dog,

Once again this year for many of the participants, this was their first attempt at the evaluation and they came to the picnic not intending to try. We also have one participant who has now received CGC status twice from our evaluation program so more than one title is appropriate. LRR looks forward to the possibility of many more future graduates of the Canine Good Citizen program at our picnic.

Congratulations to the CGC alumni of 2005 and the graduates of 2006!
