Privacy Policy

Your privacy is important to us. At LRR we have two fundamental principles:

  • We don’t ask you for personal information unless we truly need it.
  • We don’t share your personal information with anyone except to comply with the law, process applications/contests/purchases, or protect our rights.

LRR, Inc. (“LRR”) operates the lrr.org web site. It is LRR’s policy to respect your privacy regarding any information we may collect while operating our website.

Aggregated Non-Personally-Identifying Information

Like most website operators, LRR collects non-personally-identifying information such as the browser type, language preference, referring site, and the date and time of each visitor request. LRR’s purpose in collecting non-personally identifying information is to measure the number and type of visits to our web site in order to continually improve the quality of our web content.

Gathering of Personally-Identifying Information

Certain visitors to LRR’s websites may choose to interact with LRR in ways that require us to gather personally-identifying information. The amount and type of information that LRR gathers depends on the nature of the interaction. For example, more information is required in order to adopt a dog than to enter our annual calendar contest.

In each case, LRR collects such information only as necessary or appropriate to fulfill the purpose of the visitor’s interaction with LRR. Visitors may always refuse to supply personally-identifying information, with the caveat that it may prevent them from engaging in certain website-related activities.

All financial transactions, including purchases from our online store and tax-deductible donations, are processed entirely through our secure payment processor, PayPal. As such, your financial information, including credit card and/or checking account information, is never collected by or shared with LRR or its volunteers. Please review the PayPal Privacy Policy for more information.

Protection of Certain Personally-Identifying Information

LRR discloses personally-identifying information only to those of its volunteers that need to know that information in order to process it on LRR’s behalf or to provide services available at LRR’s websites. LRR will not rent or sell personally-identifying information to anyone. Other than to its volunteers, as described above, LRR discloses personally-identifying information only in response to a subpoena, court order or other governmental request, or when LRR believes in good faith that disclosure is reasonably necessary to protect the property or rights of LRR, third parties or the public at large. LRR takes all measures reasonably necessary to protect against the unauthorized access, use, alteration or destruction of personally-identifying information.

If you are a former adopter or donor and have supplied your email address and/or home address, LRR may occasionally send you mail or email to keep you up to date with what’s going on with LRR events.

Although most changes are likely to be minor, LRR may change its Privacy Policy from time to time, and in LRR’s sole discretion.
