Nigel
LRR recently rescued Nigel, a young, stray chocolate Lab. He came to us from a local shelter where he was picked up as a stray dog. Nigel was blind in his right eye, and his eye doctor said he would need to have his eye removed. Also, his left eye has a cataract, though he is still able to see out of it—eventually he may go blind in the left eye as well. Please read Nigel’s story. He is a young, vibrant, fun, boy, that deserves a chance!
On March 4, 2010, LRR took Nigel in for his eye surgery. The surgery and medications cost about $1,000. Nigel has a long road ahead, but being young, he will do just fine. His eye specialist recommended that an implant be put in place of his eye since he will likely go blind in the other eye as well, and may eventually have to have it removed. His surgery is complete and he is recovering nicely.
