Happy Tails for Hilda

Hello to all my friends at LRR!

I’m Hilda and I came to live with my forever family in February 2007. I get called all sorts of things and I answer to them all. I get called “Hilda Mae” and “Hilda Beast the Wildebeest” pretty often.

Life around my house is pretty nice. It’s even better since my two-legged parents moved to a house with only one floor with carpet. I didn’t really like the hardwood floors at the other place, and not having to climb steps to go to bed is pretty nice too. I had a really bad case of Lyme disease before LRR found me, and although it’s been treated, my joints still hurt a little.

I still eat the Proplan dog food, but I really LOVE vegetables. In fact, my mom has to remind me not to eat the tomatoes and cucumbers in the garden. I also really like that I get to lick the peanut butter spoon after my mom makes her muffin in the morning!

Earlier this year my vet found out that I had a cyst on my eye. I had to go to a doggie ophthalmologist in Philadelphia. The doctor couldn’t believe how good I was! I didn’t even flinch when he was working on my eye and they didn’t even have to give me any anesthesia.

My favorite part of the day is when I get a love fest before bed. Both of my two-legged parents get on the floor with me and clean my ears (which I just love), pet me, and play with me. I sleep so well on my fluffy bed after that.

I can’t wait to see all my friends at the LRR picnic in September.

Until then… keep wagging! Hilda
