Maize

So why did the little yellow Labrador cross the road to hide and play in a cornfield ? To play and have fun of course. The nice volunteers here at Labrador Retriever Rescue named me Maize ( May Z ) to remind me of my roots. A little bit corny but they mean well. I spent the better part of a month hiding out in a Pennsylvania cornfield. After I was caught, I caught the eye of an LRR volunteer. And boy, now I get to play and have fun now with lots of other Labbies and live indoors!

Brooke

Hi y’all my name is Brooke. I am a full figured southern belle. I am originally from Maryland and have also been spending some time in SOUTHERN New Jersey. I am a 2 to 3 year old black Labrador Retriever who is spayed, housebroken and crate trained. I get along well with the other dogs in my current foster home but they are all senior citizens and do not want to party into the night. Maybe when I am getting my pill for my Lyme disease these old guys should get some Geratol. They do like to retrieve balls with me, but you can guess who is the last one retrieving.

Pinky

Hello out there! My name is Pinky, not quite sure why. I am not pink. Instead, I am a beautiful spayed, 4 year old black lab. When I went to the vet I weighed 94 pounds, but don’t let me weight scare you, I am a gentle girl who loves to flop over. I am up to date on my shots, housebroken and crate trained.

Before LRR, I used to live with a family, but they had to give me up because of travel and work. I was a little sad a first, but am loving life right now. Since I came to LRR they have been treating me so well and really taking care of me. I have a little ear infection right now, which is being taken care of and LRR also discovered that I suffer from hypothyroidism, which is no big deal. I take a couple pills with peanut butter or food and I am good to go. The pills are making me feel better and making my coat a nice shiny black color.

Josie 2013 026Badge ive been adopted

Josie

Hi, I’m Josie, a 2ish-year old 75lb black lab. I can’t remember my dog mom and dad but the shelter I’m from said that I might be a lab/mastiff mix. I’ve got a short, squat snout so my foster parents say it looks like I ran full-tilt into a wall and smooshed my face, but they still think I’m pretty darn cute so it really doesn’t matter.

Rita

Hello….I am Rita, black female. I seem to be suffering from a bit of amnesia as I can’t remember my previous life and since I came to the shelter as a stray, they can’t fill in the blanks for me either. Phil and I were pulled from the same shelter by LRR on Groundhog’s Day which is how we got our names. LRR is guessing i am about 3 years old. One thing they do know for sure is that I am spayed, housebroken, up to date on my shots and crate-trained.

“…And we are watching a big Canadian high pressure front that is dropping down to bring a chilly weekend for all of us. For those of you going on walks this weekend I recommend taking a Labrador with you. He will keep you from getting lost and keep your feet warm in bed when you get back.”

Phil

Hello. I am Phil. I found LRR on Groundhog Day and I didn’t have a name, so they named me after the groundhog. I’m glad they didn’t decide to call me Punxsutawney! I’m a black male Labrador Retriever, housebroken, crate trained, neutered and up to date on all my shots. I was a stray to a shelter, so that’s about all anyone knows about me. They think that I am about five years old.
